SADIE

The grey tones in Sadie are inspired by the delicate feathers of Demoiselle Cranes, grey Agate gemstones, and two types of rock; the igneous gabbro rock, which forms from magma under the earth’s crust, and Basalt rock, which forms when lava cools around volcanoes. & Cushion bushes.

Sadie Tanner Mossell Alexander. In 1921 Sadie was the first African-American woman to receive a PHD in economics in the US. In 1927 she was the first woman to receive a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law school and went on to become the first Black woman to practise law in the state. She was also a civil rights activist.
